So, three topics I need to study up on, all of which I believe have had fairly recent LSW threads, none of which I can locate. 1) Mobile reference (both mobile devices and roaming librarians). 2) Single service desk for circ and reference. 3) Journal impact factors. Can anyone point me to them? Or just point at me, and laugh, that's fine too.

The impact factors convo was about google' citation service, iirc.... - RudĩϐЯaЯïan
Aaron Tay (he's around here sometimes) has some good stuff on mobile ref: http://musingsaboutlibrariansh... - Jaclyn aka spamgirl
Thanks all! - Mark Kille
Thanks Jaclyn, I have no special expertise on any of the 3 areas, in fact I am trying to figure out these 3 too... First step getting to a tiered reference system is starting in Dec.. That will free up some manpower perhaps to do roaming etc.. - aaron
Oh boy. Those are three different, big, messy cans of worms. :) - maʀtha
ISI had a recent webinar on Journal Citation Reports, which had a lot of useful info on IFs and how they are generated. I would check their website to see when they will advertise them again. Altmetrics has info on the newer scholarly metrics. - Elizabeth Brown
