Trying to convince owners to rent to someone with section 8 is frustrating. First it's: they used to rent to "section 8 people" but they didn't pay rent/trashed the place/caused problems. Then it's: they just don't want to deal with the forms, the inspections, the rules.

Having a counter for every excuse makes you look pushy. Or like that tenant they don't want to deal with even if there was no subsidy.

Eight years ago, the neighborhoods & units I'm looking at, my only competition would have been other low income, section 8 voucher holders. Now I'm competing with folx with good jobs in SF and Silicon Valley. Guess who gets picked? Not me.
