Will Apple launch a new iPhone, new iPad Air plus the iWatch on Tuesday. Seems abit crowded - Moe Glitz

in that context @Ian, I totally agree with you. I see a future where I could use my watch/wearables nfc to do 3 really cool things. 1. I could use it as a payment device (NO MORE CREDIT CARDS). 2. Use it for permiter access (Unlock my doors on my car or my house or safe) . 3. Social interaction (It would become the long awaited business card killer/drink napkin killer) . did Adobe buy phonegap. Google contributes to cordova - clive boulton
ubiquity is the key to any of these mobile payment platforms. Support for IOS and android is key - Chris Hale
For this payment stuff to take off, it has to work with what exists right now (IE a prepaid credit card working in old school creditcard machines) - Kevin Costain
Adobe did buy them, that is why the platform has two names. Phonegap is adobe's and the open source version is cordova - Chris Hale

I really like the notion of payments via a phone so i don't have to worry about someone stealing my credit card number. - Chris Hale
NFC, bet I end paying some elses coffee. - clive boulton
Apple restricting Beacons from retailer brand to their own app only - to stop you getting notified to death as you walk past stores - Ian Waring
@mary, a lot of times its the manufacturer of the product making the coupons, not the store necessarily - Chris Hale
Mary if I sold cereal A and "saw" you picking up cereal B I'd offer a coupon. Also if you bought just one box and I wanted you to buy 3. - Ian McGee
manufactures also use coupons to get you to get a discound on product b when paired with purchase of product a - Chris Hale
Will the iWatch have a fingerprint sensor? - Alex de Soto

I do not need to use square to do a transaction if apple has card transfer. - Arnie Klaus
@mary, it can be accomplished with bluetooth beacons but I think this is a very delicate space that needs some real careful attention to how its launched to keep from being creepy - Chris Hale
If Square doesn't take payments via the iWatch, they may eventually be in trouble. Card swipes should be on the way out. - Alex de Soto
order from bed ! Yes! - Tina Chase Gillmor
now.. a restaurant could see me in front of another restaurant.. looking at menu.. GPS is specific enough..and send me a coupon to lure me over.. but other than services like hair or nails or restaurants.. it seems like coupons are far fetched.. - mary hodder
(smutty!) - Ian Waring
Apple lets you do that only if you have an iPHone and you have to scan - Francine Hardaway
Coupons based on buying habits are pretty powerful. I foresee the more stuff i buy, the more relevant coupons i will start seeing. I can't wait till i get reminders or coupons when i pass an aisle i forget something. - Chris Hale

I think the publics trust in apple is a little shaken in the wake of the hacks this week. - Chris Hale
chris.. i get that coupons based upon what i buy is one way.. yes.. but frankly they have to ask me for my purchase history.. if it's a store that is different than the one i shop in.. just taking it is creepy, and weird.. and actually depending doesn't comply with various laws depending on jurisdiction - mary hodder
tina: bedcoin! - clive boulton
Clive ;-) - Tina Chase Gillmor
john's mic is hitting his shirt. oy - Tina Chase Gillmor
thx steve - Tina Chase Gillmor
@mary, the stores will incentivize you to grant them access to that information. Its the same idea behind rewards cards or club cards. Its the exact same information. It wont be something that just happens when you are a stranger in the store or opt out of giving your data to the company - Chris Hale
But the icloud hack used Elcomsoft.. which actually will crack into everything we use.. regardless of two-factor auth.. yes.. Apple gets the blame here publicly.. but frankly everything you touch is vulnerable.. there are backdoors for law enforcement with every serivce and technology you use - mary hodder
i have to get glasses like John. I'm out of fashion like Boy George - clive boulton
Bedcoin. I love that. - Francine Hardaway
Don't ask Steve about his Boy George story - Tina Chase Gillmor
Chris.. i hope so (re asking for my data) but I don't use any cards or reward systems due to the data sharing and lack of transparency about what is happening.. and i recommend others don't.. - mary hodder
you'll be sorry - Tina Chase Gillmor
You're not wrong, Steve. Playing both bets. Hedging - Tom Guarriello
how many bedcoin's for a sausage biscuit ;) - clive boulton
NFC can be used for stuff other than payments so what is the harm in having that alongside beacons - Chris Hale
I think you should call this show Tapingo! - Francine Hardaway
the problem with sharing data is most people are afraid to do it.. because there is so much creepy stuff going on.. i've done research on it.. 92% of the people we surveyed hide or lie about their data regularly out of fear and disgust - mary hodder
chat rooms been discussing celebrity fngerprints and bedcoins! - clive boulton
and that was before Snowden - mary hodder
well , Robert scoble has convinced me over the years to not really fear sharing of my data about me - Chris Hale
Chris: I post my naked photos to Facebook public. - Robert Scoble
The benefits outweigh the drawbacks. - Chris Hale
Well, Mary Hodder would disagree on that privacy issue - Tina Chase Gillmor
If privacy is dead.. i want you to put your credit card info here.. i need a new computer - mary hodder
Apple like most technology companies haven’t grasped the ethnography of privacy controls changes over a lifetime. - clive boulton
@clive that was very well put - Chris Hale
Chris.. you don't know the drawbacks.. people are making decisions about you based upon all this data.. and you don't even know - mary hodder
I need a sneeze switch - Tina Chase Gillmor
1Password is going to be worth a bigger fortune after iOS 8 comes out - Tom Guarriello
thanks chris - clive boulton
people always have done that though @mary. Credit scores are the same type of thing. Decisions being made based on data about me - Chris Hale
Chris, yes.. but the FCRA has some regulating effect. but most of our data isn't regulated.. - mary hodder
I think most people have way too much faith in technology companies and don't do due diligence on how to secure some of there basic accounts - Chris Hale
And how about the "interceptor" cell towers? http://www.popsci.com/article... - christina sponselli
People need security counseling. - Chris Hale
two factor harder on mobile (because phone provides auth) - clive boulton

I agree with Keith - Chris Hale
Except make it a lot easier, which iOS 8 is going to try - Tom Guarriello
Too easy for Hackers to second guess Famous People's personal passwords - Moe Glitz
but Elcomsoft will still get through to Apple's data on people.. because law enforcement gets a pass.. and a backdoor - mary hodder
now that @mary i am really not a fan of. The law enforcement back doors. - Chris Hale
Thumbprint + 1Password in iOS 8 - Tom Guarriello
Pure adult films - Ian McGee
I think someone maybe a Scoble type should really be starting to bring more attention to what types of info those systems can get at , and also what the legal bounds of what they can get at - Chris Hale
Under My Thumb - Moe Glitz
like i dont know what types of info can be drawn without a warrant and what type of info can be obtained with different types of warrants - Chris Hale

Condolences to you guys on losing a friend. It's hard getting old, and this is only one reason why. - Tom Guarriello
He wasn't old - Tina Chase Gillmor
No, I meant the process of getting old, Tina. Losing friends and loved ones. - Tom Guarriello
Sorry to hear yall's friend passed. He sounds like a great person. - Chris Hale
Chris.. it's not about warrants.. it's about the backdoors existing, then Elcomsoft writes software to get into them, then hackers steal the software.. then they hack accounts.. and the Elcomsoft stuff can get to Apple but also about 100 other sites and services.. everything you use.. and Android stuff, Blackberry, Microsoft phone os, etc. - mary hodder
It sucks when your friends start to die - Francine Hardaway
Mike's finally seen off the crazy lady. - clive boulton
