"I thought the same thing about the NEX (also APS-C) -- that I would be more apt to taking it out places because of it's size. Unfortunately that was not the case since it doesn't fit in my pocket (even if i had the 16mm pancake it's still not pocketable), so unless it is a small elph I wont take it anywhere. That being said, a NEX/GF2/etc is the same burden as a DSLR as I'll still be carrying it around, so might as well make it a DSLR that can take great pics." - Paul Stamatiou
