April, thank you for reaching out to Archive Team and for your post requesting links. I thought I'd start another post to talk about making it go viral.
I shared your post to my feed, but it didn't include a link to your original, where people really need to post their links. How about a nice short post for 'post your links HERE to rescue your shit. Forward this post to your friends' - Greg GuitarBuster
I haven't programmed in 10 years, but I was looking at the FF API page today. I can retrieve all of my subscriptions, subscribers, lists, and groups, but the result isn't formatted as lists of links. I'm sure Archive Team has lots of experience with working with that kind of information, but if someone could write a script to convert the output of the API queries into lists of urls. - Greg GuitarBuster
How can we get your post to the most people on FF? I only have a few subscriptions to non-westerners and I'll forward the message to them, but who are the people and groups with large followings. Names that I can think of in my subscriptions would be koleksiyoner, mahdiebrahimi, silpol, senape - Greg GuitarBuster
At this point, sharing a link to my post to your feed could help spread the word...sharing in whatever rooms you are subscribed to can help too...but they have to understand they need to comment/like the original post of mine for this to work well...because Archive Team has the link to that post. I have already posted it on frenf.it to try to get some of them that may not be visiting friendfeed any more, to see it. Perhaps sharing the link to my post anywhere else on the web that friendfeeders may have moved on to, could help too. - April Russo (FForever!)
commenting on my original post with links to any profile that has a lot of subscriptions/subscribers and any rooms that fit that description, too. I added direct links to Robert Scoble's subscribers/subscriptions pages, and I don't know if it will help but I also linked to a search of posts that have huge amounts of likes, since each like is a link to a profile page. We just want to give Archive Team a really good starting point to spider from to find all the public profiles and rooms they are missing links to. - April Russo (FForever!)
Hi, would you point me to the original post? April's feed isn't public. There is an ongoing backup and migration effort attempted by the Russian-speaking community, so I thought we can benefit from informing each other. - ну же
We need more more public urls from the Persian community on that post (users & rooms). :/ Any of you guys know any popular Persians? - April Russo (FForever!)
I told to my friends in Persian community. I will tell them again to add all the public URLs (users & rooms). - Mahdi
Thanks, Mahdi. :) - April Russo (FForever!)
You are welcome April, I should thank you for your efforts :) - Mahdi
It's a team effort and we are all part of the team to save what belongs to us. :) - April Russo (FForever!)
Can someone take over for me adding links to searches for groups by language? Use this list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki... I stopped at Arabic. Be sure to do a search for the native name of the languages, too, in case that turns up anything. Someone else might want to do the same with a list of country names to see what comes up, too. The more users from each country we can find, the better, and languages & countries are 2 good ways to do it, - April Russo (FForever!)
Archive Team is taking my advice to use the API to get the last 10,000 posts of each public account first, before using other methods to try to get the rest. - April Russo (FForever!)
