I'm about to make my favorite cake: Boston Creme Pie. I'm pondering making 1 of the 2 vanilla cake layers into Red Velvet, an easy mod. What say ye, FF: abomination or good idea?

The cake was an abject failure (pastry cream disaster), but I invented Boston Creme Bites instead. I'm pleased with the outcome. Though I still want to try a bloody version of BCP and call it "Tea Party Pie."
