The Cumans originally lived east of the Yellow River, in China,[15] making them the only Caucasian people in eastern Asia at the time. The Cumans entered the grassland of Eastern Europe in the 11th century, from where they continued to assault the Byzantine Empire, the Kingdom of Hungary, and Rus - they became arch enemies.
