I can see why Steve wants to release this as video, it sounds like a classic episode. The Loren Puppet calling up Scoble had me howling. Arrington is golden too

so I have to thank Jack for alerting me to the new feed. But Steve, what's the strategy behind the "open" radio silence this time? Is it because you are still tinkering with the video set-up and want to turn this into a video show?

it is a video show. working with google to restore downloading, once that's set will start uploading

Will there be an mp3 made availible? Some people don't want to/don't have the time to watch.

I'd also like an mp3 version if possible. I listen in my car. If I have too, I'll grab the video and just listen but would prefer a smaller size audio only version.

So I guess that answers our question finally. You don't intend on releasing mp3s of the Gillmor Gang, which is fine as long as Jack is posting bootleg mp3 to the bootleg gillmor gang rss feed. Glad that Open Realtime web can still be timeshifted by fans.

If Steve releases video it will save me recording it live, I'll just re-encode. Which will be better than leaving my recorder on for six hours to find the show has been rescheduled when I was out.

Christian: Not quite sure what you mean by "when it's live the first time" but Leo should just keep the twit live calendar http://www.google.com/calenda... up to date, and not keep moving things around.

I missed GG last week when it was moved to Friday unexpectedly, and thanks to Dave making the torrent availible, I was able to listen. However, according to the calendar, next week it will be on Friday again. It was last week's rescheduling that motivated me to create the bootleg feed, I had been tuning in live since the official feed went dead.
