So I got a wireless internet connection for the house, but my laptop (and only mine) couldn't connect to the internet... supposedly it connects to the router, but calls it "unidentified network" and access is "local only" i.e. nothing. Switched it to open (no security), and it works fine. What Vista fail is this?
And yes, I can google, but seriously after months of trying things blindly I have made no progress. - Lo
Might be your wireless NIC. Move your encryption level back from WPA2 to just WPA. Older NICs will not support the latest encryption standards. - Eric - Final Countdown
Did it work? - Eric - Final Countdown
No luck. Sorry, it's taking forever to test stuff lately. What's weird is that I traveled a lot last year, and connected to dozens of different networks with different kinds of security with no problem. And now my laptop has also mysteriously ceased to have audio of any kind. *sigh* - Lo
