I've got quite a thick skin but when you hear people talking like that in a very derogatory way about disabled people I find that quite worrying”
Baroness Grey-Thompson
"A couple of hundred people said some fairly unpleasant things about me along the lines of 'what gives her the right to speak, she should be at home, she shouldn't be out at midnight, she should be better organised', and what right did I think I had to travel on public transport."

I know it's getting nasty out there

That's terrible. I thought only the US was full of such boneheads...

Definitely not and thanks to some papers which are relentlessly campaigning against the disabled (as their sense of entitlement has apparently caused the current economic situation) their numbers are increasing. We always need a scapegoat and of course it has to be the easiest target we can find.

What right did she have to use PUBLIC transport? OMG I fear society has passed some sort of critical mass for which the shear # of us can no longer support general compassion, common sense and a reasonable pursuit of enlightenment beyond that of poop flingin' apes.

Apart from the fact that with what train tickets cost in this country they should go and pick her up with a limousine at the end of the journey. It is hardly public and it ain't cheap.

So much anger nurtured in people - by the government, the opposition and general media - eventually it seeks a target :( Sad that nobody spoke up
