Google Reader's doin' some mighty fine comment thread tracking, just saw it. You can hover over a portion of the dialogue and it will tell you when it was published and how long ago. This is something I'm hoping to see from FriendFeed.

Collecta - Real Time Web for any interested. Social networks monitored. At this point it's posts vs. any kind of nested dialogue or comments--but I'm sure this will evolve. It is a clean UI. Kudos. - http://collecta.com/#q=Lock...
For those starting out, and even more savvy bloggers, aggregators such as FF, with phenomenal UI's (which can be used to increase readership in a way that one's silo might not), are megacommunities which are going to be impossible to match. If pioneers, large or small, can harness these real time technologies and beat the big boys, who knows--but these feed / dialogue giants bring compelling dialogue, and are hence highly attractive to a great number of users.
