For one thing, I'd like to know if the decrease in YouTube and increase on Facebook is happening from the same businesses. In other words, are individual marketers actually abandoning YT and going to FB exclusively for their video uploads? My real question though concerns reach. Until and unless Facebook develops an actually worthwhile search, Facebook videos like all FB content will have short half-lives. FB content goes by, is quickly consumed, and disappears into the void. Well-optimized YT videos can continue to rank in Google search for relevant searches for a long, long time.
