"It doesn't seem like this'll happen anytime soon.
Google seems to think that Chromecast support is a valid replacement for a full web browser."

"What it can do?
Provide Kinect support on a web app that wasn't built with Kinect in mind.
Scrolling faster doesn't really fall under "CAN do"."

""...there appears to be one thing that will drive you nuts: Opera’s inability to work with today’s modern (JavaScript heavy) pages."
Opera Mini isn't for JavaScript heavy pages at all, it's a browser originally meant for flip phones. Interactivity is far from a strong point, it isn't the point at all."

"Scroll performance is a side effect of Pointer Events as it leaves a lot of interaction up to the browser and not JavaScript, but in the end it wasn't made with improving scrolling in mind, it was made with making complex interactions and multiple forms of input easier for developers to build into their apps."

"Yup, I did some digging and can confirm, AirView support is for hover and mouseover events.
Also Chrome 41 also supports the Notification API and sports a Push API with Service Workers, so web apps/sites can now send notifications in the background.

"I've no problem with supporting IE6, 7 or 8 myself.
I enjoy the challenge, and the browsers have so many proprietary features that are useful for polyfilling in anything I need.
My only thing is I wish Microsoft released IE9 for Windows XP when it came out, that should've been the last IE version for XP and it would've been a good move from them for the web as a whole and for their business as a goodwill move to get developers to like IE again."

"Chrome 41 will be shipping support for the CSS4 media queries 'any-pointer' and 'any-hover' which I'm betting is why AirView support was suddenly added to Chrome."

"Rich notifications are exclusive to Chrome apps, web sites/apps can't use them.
Chrome on Android doesn't have notification support at all so this is likely Google just shipping the notification API in Chrome for Android right now in preparation for Service Worker notifications in the coming months."

"I don't know why anyone would or should be surprised.
It's sad though, there aren't yet any Android TV boxes with HDMI pass through, Android TV doesn't sport the Chrome browser nor can you sideload apps on an Android TV device.
I'll stick with my old Google TV box for now."

"I always thought to myself that if/when Google brings the Play Games app to the web that they should update this app to reflect that."

"ORTC which Google is working on integrating with WebRTC.
Also Google is building APIs for developers to code support for other file systems on Chrome OS, which I think is far better than relying on the OS itself to support these things."
