"I was a huge BL and BL2 fan. I was a huge fan of Gearbox in general. I dropped the $90 for TPS with season pass at launch because of my fandom and faith in Gearbox. TPS really took the wind out of the sails of my fandom. I am still holding out some hope for BL3 since it with be their A-team and not 2K Australia, but who knows." - Kevin Bondelli
kbondelli on A suggestion for when bundled games get onto Steam - any thoughts? - http://www.reddit.com/r...
"I think having a thread like you mention is fine, as long as it is in addition to and not instead of the individual posts. For me personally, checking /r/GameDealsMeta/new and seeing the individual posts for the games that have just had their keys released is more convenient than having to check a thread that has a bunch of information about what is coming out when etc etc etc." - Kevin Bondelli

kbondelli on Political systems by country - http://www.reddit.com/r...
"The option I have is expensive, but the 3-volume [World Encyclopedia of Political Systems and Parties](http://www.amazon.com/World-E...) is exactly what you are describing. Each country has an entry. I will use the entry on India as an example of how the entries work. The entry for India is 19 pages with information on the system of government, the electoral system, the party system, entries on the major and minor political parties, description of other political forces, and a summary on national prospects. One one hand, these books are really informative and provide good briefings on each country. On the other, this set is expensive and political structures change quite often in many parts of the world, rendering entries obsolete." - Kevin Bondelli

kbondelli on Magazine you believe your senator is subscribed to - http://www.reddit.com/r...
"I'm going to give a serious answer to what may or may not be a serious question based on my experience as a former political staffer. In general, most senators don't read magazines cover to cover and nowadays rarely touch the actual magazine. Their staff reads sources and gives the member a clips list of articles/news items that are important for the member to be familiar with. The sources that make it into those lists depend on the member and their state. I would break them into a couple categories: * National news magazines * Local magazines (what your constituents are reading) * Issue/policy magazines/journals National news magazines are Time, Newsweek, New Yorker, etc. Local magazines are specific to their state (for example and Arizona senator would get clips from Arizona Capitol Times and Phoenix New Times). The issue/policy magazines/journals largely depends on committee assignments and their personal platform focus. For example, a senator on the Foreign Relations committee..." - Kevin Bondelli
kbondelli on Is the purpose of charities and non-profits to alleviate suffering for some or in the short-term, whereas the goal of governments (among other things) is to provide sustainable solutions to suffering? - http://www.reddit.com/r...
"Different charities/foundations have different strategies. Some focus on short-term aid and others work on sustainable solutions. In terms of the difference in mission between non-profits and government, there are some problems that require the power of a government to solve. Income inequality, environmental policies, etc. often require government policy. Ideally I would say that governments would be able to and should plan for long-term strategies to solve these massive problems. Unfortunately that is unlikely since one of the drawbacks of democracy is that it is extremely short-sighted." - Kevin Bondelli
