"I'm going to give a serious answer to what may or may not be a serious question based on my experience as a former political staffer. In general, most senators don't read magazines cover to cover and nowadays rarely touch the actual magazine. Their staff reads sources and gives the member a clips list of articles/news items that are important for the member to be familiar with. The sources that make it into those lists depend on the member and their state. I would break them into a couple categories: * National news magazines * Local magazines (what your constituents are reading) * Issue/policy magazines/journals National news magazines are Time, Newsweek, New Yorker, etc. Local magazines are specific to their state (for example and Arizona senator would get clips from Arizona Capitol Times and Phoenix New Times). The issue/policy magazines/journals largely depends on committee assignments and their personal platform focus. For example, a senator on the Foreign Relations committee..." - Kevin Bondelli
