"Yes, I used Drupal some 10 years ago but switched to WP for some reason, sometimes I regret this. I'm currently using a static blog engine but I'm not sure I'll stick with it - I haven't found a good way of handling the photos."

"It's interesting to read about your "adventures" since I've been thinking (and doing) some of these things. I've played with the idea of using WordPress for my photo site but I've always aborted my attempts. Why? I don't think that WP works well as a content management system. I think it works well as a blog site, OK for other kind of sites as long as the number of pages doesn't get too large, but I would be hesitant to use it for a large site (however, I assume that there are a huge number of plugins that basically rebuild the admin UI so it works better but then there have to be a better solution from the beginning). When it comes to photo organizing I find the plain WP unusable for more than the basic stuff of adding images to blog posts, I've also tried NextGEN Gallery and it's better but I still find it cumbersome. So I will find your "adventures" very interesting, I might have missed something or used something the wrong way. I hope you'll write something about you work with..."

RT @strobist: Excellent point by @_toddjohnson: Military wear camouflage to blend in. City cops wear camo to LOOK military; to frighten and intimidate.
