"Hi Anindita, yes the script thing really gets me too, especially when they start to use american phrases, like 'I'm good.'
Or maybe that it bothers me is a sign that I'm turning into one of those grumpy old men ;)"

"agree - what you're saying about keeping it private really is important. Before you know it people start giving you 'advise', which is the last thing you want."

"Hi Anindita, i think what surprised me was that is was do-able in the first place. Somehow I thought the wheels would fall off if i stopped eating food, if only for one day :)
The other was that, when i don't have the chance to eat, I don't have the same little panic and irritations, snapping at others, for example.
So, maybe the benefits are as much mental as physical.
Regards,
Ivan"

"Hi JG,
I think it's mostly down to costs. Frame is very expensive, whereas Word comes bundled with most PCs. Also most people know how to use Word, whereas (for others) Frame can be awkward.
As regards Adobe suggesting they'll drop Frame. I feel it will be merged into InDesign or Robohelp at some point. Frame feels to me more like a DTP product that has been twisted into an authoring tool.
Also, as we move to the web, Robohelp may become the default tech writing tool as it's web-facing. Frame is very much for 'real' books.
From a really cold Ireland,
Ivan"

"Thanks Anastasia. Oddly enough, I was working very late last night but tried to keep perspective on why I was there and, most importantly, not wish away the day or been stuck in the office. I try to be grateful. It's not always easy but being grateful melts many small complaints away. Ivan"
