Bashed your head? You needed a stiff drink - health - 21 September 2009 - New Scientist - http://www.newscientist.com/article...
"Crazy as it sounds, alcohol may one day be given to people with brain injuries to help them recover. The idea has arisen from a study of 38,000 people with head injuries, which found that those with alcohol in their blood were more likely to survive. For every 100 people who died when stone-cold sober, only 88 died with ethanol – the kind of alcohol in drinks – in their veins." - Matt G

Love you Telstra. - Matt G
I have been looking at Australia's Broadband offerings for a friend of mine in Aus. All I can say is *IT SUCKS*. And Telstra have the worst. I pay £26 per month for unlimited downloads and 8Mb/256Kb speeds... and £26 is expensive and I am only paying it because I am too busy (or lazy) to change. I can get 20Mb/1Mb with no limits for £25 if I got off my butt and did something about it. - travispuk
I couldn't agree more Travis, but it's my fault. I signed with Telstra in a moment of MADNESS! Now I cry every time I read about the other alternatives. As you point out though they all suck compared to what is available overseas. I am no expert but iinet looks to have some good deals (and maybe TPG). - Matt G
Matt, yeah iiNet Broadband2+ was what I recommended. Nice speed, good caps and a great price. If I was still living in Australia I would be tempted to head on over to iiNet myself. (please note I am not affiliated with iiNet in ANYWAY ;)) - travispuk
Metallica's fine, but not Ned Kelly | The Daily Telegraph - http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news...
"YOU can call your kid Metallica, Fully Hektik Sik or God Bless, but don't even think about giving him the name Ned Kelly - that would be offensive. Christian names deemed acceptable and unacceptable by the NSW Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages provide interesting reading." - Matt G
Ned Kelly was rejected for public interest reasons, as was Jesus Christ. Post Master General and Chief Maximus were rejected because they are titles. Other names knocked back included a blank space, the child's Medicare number and the number seven, a name suggested in the sitcom Seinfeld. - Matt G
For reasons known only to the Registrar, Metallica, Fully Hektik Sik and God Bless are acceptable. - Matt G

A question to the academics and librarians (or anyone else with an opinion) out there. Is there a way to accesss peer reviewed journals (science & environmental) without paying a subscripition. The equivalent of file sharing music or video? They were all free when I was a student but the subscription costs are prohibitive for me at the moment.
I really love this song. I first saw this guy and his band play at Her Majesty's Tavern nearly 20 years ago and they were awful. I am glad they persevered.
@mariadelbarrio8 Try to be more understanding of cultural differences. That is considered a great compliment in Australia. :-)
