"Psychologists in the UK have discovered the best way to get that annoying Christmas carol out of your head.
They also found that 'earworms', unwanted catchy tunes that repeat in your head, are often greater in length and are remembered for longer than our auditory memory capacity was previously thought to allow.
The research, by Philip Beaman and Tim Williams of the University of Reading, appears in an upcoming edition of the British Journal of Psychology ."

"The researchers conducted two studies exploring the nature of earworm experiences, as well as their causes and methods of removing them."

Here I was, thinking I was going to read about some icky bug.
- Bryce Roney
A bug could be preferable to some of the earworms I have had.

""To strengthen cyber safety this Government will introduce legislative amendments to the Broadcast Services Act to require all ISPs to block material rated refused classification that is hosted on overseas servers and therefore not subject to the existing take-down regime.""

"Any motivated user will be able to get around it, it will be quite easy, so who is this being targeted at?"

Oliver MacColl, the acting national director of lobby group GetUp!, says Senator Conroy's firewall plan hands control of the internet to "the moral minority".
"It was through public complaints mechanisms like the one Mr Conroy is proposing that classic literature such as The Catcher in the Rye, Ulysses and The Story of the Kelly Gang were once banned in Australia," he said.

I can't download these in Australia, they may be available in other countries (other than US), I'm not sure. That spoils my plans for Christmas morning!

Male crabs will protect a female neighbour but do so partly in exchange for sex."

"In a landmark decision today, the Federal Court in Brisbane imposed a total of $15.75 million in penalties for contraventions of the Spam Act 2003 (the Spam Act), following the Australian Communications and Media Authority’s first court action taken against unsolicited SMS messages."

I dislike the fact that it is effectively a Government Agency that is going after these people... and spending tax dollars trying to stop it from happening. I think that the network providers should bare the cost as they are allowing it to happen... however having said that I guess I am then supporting the Movie and Music industry going after the ISPs and I think that is wrong. The difference is that the Movie and Music industry is a private company (or public) trying to regain lost profits =P.
