Mobils have a lot going for children But what age should a child have their own cellphone. There is a lot being said for these so called modern aids for keeping in touch with your children when they are not home, messageing like - I need to be picked up from so and so place, that they have a ride home, they will be late home, etc, etc. What did we do before cellphones came on the scene? Children under 14 should not be left alone, they should always have a baby sitter or a older person with them, so that gets away from the issue, that it is a way of knowing where they are, etc, etc, because the care giver will be the person to keep in touch with you if they need a ride home or what-ever. - David Finch

Farming - Animals Are My Life I have been farming all my life (Lived on a Farm for 65 years), it is 365 days a year work. Farming is my home and our business. Farming is not only milking cows, calf rearing, saving that new lamb that was born in a puddle last-night, or that pig that's just got in the garden. Is all about a "Life Like No Other". It is more than looking after animals, having good pasture to feed the animals, It 's a way of life I love. - David Finch

Those days gone by, we never worried about what goodness we would get from eating this and that, we ate what was put in front of us, and never asked questions, just thankful we had something to eat. Most of it was homegrown and home baked, we never had take-aways, any thing like that was cooked at home. These days we know much more about what makes us healthy and what doesn't. - David Finch

Sharing My Dream Vacation With You Some 12 years ago I was planing a holiday in the South Island of New Zealand and it was a dream, but I had already started planning it, even brought the road maps and started looking for accommodation. But now it will be just a dream, since the earthquakes last Febuary,Christchurch beautiful buildings like the Cathedral, which I was looking forward to visiting, has been destroyed. - David Finch

New Zealand is made up of two main islands and a number of smaller islands, lets not forget Stewart Island, at the bottom of the South Island . - David Finch

Penguin Awareness Day is celebrated on January 20th. One should never confuse between Penguin Awareness Day which is observed on January 20th and World Penguin Day that is celebrated on April 25th because both of them sound almost the same. January 20th is observed as the National Penguin Awareness Day. A day dedicated to one of the cutest bird species. - David Finch
