I read this after I accidentally saw The Name of the Rose on TV many years ago. I really like Umberto Eco's style. Good, gripping read and the whole discovery of longitude stuff in this book led me to read Dava Sobel's Longitude - which is also fascinating. - Arvind Sundararajan

Yeah - I personally think the Island of the Day Before is better. I also started reading his more recent Mysterious Flame of Queen Loana, but didn't like it and didn't finish it. - Arvind Sundararajan
