Re: Radio Veteran Lee Bayley Dies - http://www.allaccess.com/net-new...
"Lee was a lion in media's forest. One of the best and brightest programming executives of his generation, he led by example. His KAKC morning show was consistently #1. Lee's KOTV Dance Party achieved far bigger local ratings than did Clark's Bandstand. The years of unprecedented ratings success enjoyed by KAKC were a result of his leadership. KAKC's legacy - being one the greatest of the original Drake stations - is due, in large measure, to the exemplary work of Lee Bayley. At Drake-Chenault, Lee was an evangelist for all formats, he took the much celebrated firm beyond the single format which created it and developed a portfolio which made DC radio's first major multi-format consulting organization. Above all, Lee was a gentleman, a Southern gentleman." - Dave Martin
