Anyone here an AppleTV user? Have you been using it for Netflix lately? Has it been completely horrible and low resolution?
We use our AppleTV for Netflix all the time. Looks great; I can't tell if it's 720p or 1080p, but it's very high quality. Netflix changes the resolution it sends based on the network speed/latency, I believe. - Glen Campbell
Interesting. There's a widespread problem that a lot of AppleTV owners are reporting. Very poor resolution (640x480 or worse) despite a speedy network connection and other devices on the same network getting full 1080p resolution. Not isolated to one ISP, time of day or geographic location. Unfortunately, I'm one of them. - Kevin (aka ThreadKilla)
I hate using the apple tv to netflix for those very reasons. upsets me to no end that the 5 yo craptastic blu-ray has dependable and better netflix useability. - Lnorigb
Sadly, the AppleTV was our go-to Netflix box until about a month ago. Never had this problem before then. Seems to be the general consensus. Naturally, Netflix denies that there's a problem. - Kevin (aka ThreadKilla)
even the tv's (vizio) app has better dependability for netflix. I quit on the apple tv app long ago. wish apple tv would talk to amazon prime videos. - Lnorigb
inspired by my longing to get amazon prime viewing on the tv i finally got smart, fired up the amazon prime app on my phone then sent the video to the apple tv. tada! & d'oh! could done this ages ago. - Lnorigb
No on the low resolution, it has been off and on for the last week or so though - Scoble, Alex Scoble
