"I generally believe in sharing openly unless it's violating a confidence someone else has placed in me. For the most part, anything I write is what i believe at that moment in time, so as long as any reader recognizes that we all evolve and iterate as we learn, I'm not afraid to be right or wrong in public.
As for strategic value of keeping quiet, so far I'd be hard-pressed to think of anything we've kept private which doesn't fall into one of the following categories:
a) violates someone else's confidence (per above)
b) is still fluid/formative so don't feel as if there's something to write about yet that's interesting or beneficial to others
there's at least one experiment we're thinking about which would further increase one type of info we share that I'll post about in January."
