"Thanks for your comment. I'm the OP and the author. I'd like to point out a few things: * It's a write up on the technology used by a guy that lost in a small corner of the state. But, the guy happens to have a fortune, happens to have led a technology business, happens to have a genuine interest to help, fought arguably an intense campaign and the corner happens to house an IT corridor and with a lot of people moving in, does merit a better governance and amenities. * Even the most technologically well versed candidates (such as this one) did use anything quite like you would like to see, unfortunately. (I've personally seen some amazing tools used during the Obama campaign though.) * We all like to think (at least those of us who regular reddit) Technology enabled that what you call a political gang rape. How the information flowed and how it was used. However, the "technology used" was by and large "creating banners with quotes" and updating them on Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp...." - Lakshman Prasad
