Zuckerberg comes out of the serial killer closet- The Inquirer - http://www.theinquirer.net/inquire...

"In his own weird way, Zuckerberg seemed to be trying to do the right thing, but he also said he was thinking about taking up hunting as well, which seemed to have little to do with the rationale that he provided for personally killing his own farm animals. Maybe he should give Godaddy CEO Bob Parsons a call so they can kill African big game and say they are doing the farmers a favour. We hear that Parsons' elephant soup is to die for."

I apologize to Derrick but this is affectation of Zuckerberg is so bizarre that it needs more bright light on it.
- Brian Sullivan
It seems like he is definitely headed down the Howard Hughes genius slide.

This is part of the Facebook HR plan. Only the lowest performing employees are selected from the herd. -

Wow this article is not only ignorant, particularly the last paragraph (the one you quoted), but also based on BS created by taking his words out of context. His goal had nothing to do with sustainable farming, it was to eat only what he killed. Hunting does not just equal sport. FUD.

Your response to Zuckerberg's weirdness is to ridicule a satirical paragraph in a satrical article?
- Brian Sullivan
His weirdness, isn't weird at all, around here it's called life. So I don't give a damn if it's satirical or not, because of how people (you) are interpretting it.

It's not weird to only eat meat from animals you have personally slaughtered (except maybe if you are a member of a nomadic tribe) and to have a butchering tutor ? Where is it that this is just "normal life"?
- Brian Sullivan
^^ No, it's not weird.
- t-ra is ugly crying
Well colour me surprised that some people think this is not weird.
- Brian Sullivan
It's a compromise some people are making rather than go full vegan yet still trying to respect life by not plugging into the killing machine that is modern factory farming. It's weird as in not common, it's somewhat inconsistent, but it can also be an admirable principled position.

Brian, in rural areas, where farming and hunting, are part of the core of society. Sure he lives in a city, but why not. This just points out how far people in urban environments have gotten from the source, that they think it's weird. That's a sad fact. And I'm not saying I know where all the stuff comes from for my meals, but more often than not, I can tell you where. Also, personally slaughtering your own food is just a guarantee that you're not being sold something that it's not.

Even farmers and hunters do not "only eat meat from animals that they have personally slaughtered". I come from a community where hunting and eating meat is not uncommon. My wife's cousin is a sheep farmer. Nobody I know in either situation only eats meat that they have slaughtered. Personally slaughtering food is not a guarantee of anything -- in an urban society it is a bizarre affectation in my mind.

Brian, and neither is Zuckerberg's gf, but she's probably only eating meat that he slaughtered. It's akin to having a family member slaughter it for you and eating it. I doubt anyone else would do it for him. I think you're hung up on "personally slaughtered." In rural environments, it's completely possible to get by without "personally slaughtering," because it's likely a friend or family member has, or will. Urban environments, aren't like that, so it's kind of necessitated that he do it himself.

Do you or anybody you know follow this meat eating/slaughtering strategy? It is rich man's affectation and bizarre in my mind.
- Brian Sullivan
As long as we're not talking, "personal slaughter." Not 100%. About 75% of my meat would fit that, and I do know some people that are over 95%, several of my uncles. But also, none of us are really trying for 100%, Zuckerberg is doing it as a challenge. So 100% doesn't seem that unnusual, with focus, except for the environment he's trying to do it in.
- OCoG of FF, Jimminy
You would have to ask his slaughter coach about that.
