"Permission granted: You can officially stop feeling guilty about those little "bad-for-you" habits you can't seem to break. Turns out, many of life's greatest indulgences bring big health benefits -- helping you stay slim, fight off the blues, and kick disease to the curb."

YES #1. I've read for years about how important sleep is, and how people who claim they function well on a little consistently fail to demonstrate that on cognition tests. But my own personal experience has demonstrated that even a small, single-night bit of sleep deprivation wreaks havoc on my immune system (I *only* get sick when I haven't been sleeping enough), and makes me a more irritable person.

I can also vouch for playing hooky, sunlight, sex, massages, and chocolate... in fact, reading this list I realized that I basically formed my own "therapy" plan a few years back & it really improved my quality of life.

Does anyone really think massages and sleep are bad for you? Some of these are pretty questionable as "vices."

A lot of people believe you should sleep less to have more awake time so that you can accomplish more (get more work done, do other activities, etc.; a lot of successful people are popular with this choice of habit and many of them view the recommended amount of sleep as a waste of precious time). As well, the only way that massage is referred to as a vice is the guilt people may feel about spending money on it (viewing it as a waste of money with no real benefit)...they are saying that you should feel good about doing these things because they prove to be good for you.
