"AMSA has posted the latest satellite image of the oil slick emmanating from the leaking Montara Well in the Timor Sea. Whilst the image shows areas of heavier contamination, observations from aircraft have indicated that a light oil sheen (light film of oil approx .0001mm in thickness) extends to Cartier Island and east of Ashmore Reef. Sheen is not considered to have a harmfull impact on shorlines Though it can be damaging to birdlife." - Matt G
