"I would agree if that were the response I've been seeing from audiences. Either many people didn't "get it" or it failed in portraying the message. To make me sick,Scorsese could have shown me the ramification of his actions while he was living this lifestyle. Instead we had Belfort in the movie. If we were supposed to hate the decadence portrayed, why would he put him in at the end of the movie? We were supposed to boo when we saw him announcing Leo at the end in New Zealand.
I'm just making my argument, but I'm honestly happy that you can see the movie in your own way. If anything, that's maybe the brilliance of the film - that people can take away different things. I believe any movie that can evoke different emotions from different people can be successful in that way.
