I had a wonderful strawberry cake while I was in Japan 13 years ago. It was so light and not too sweet. I've looked for recipes in the past, but I have finally figured out that I think it was a Japanese Strawberry Shortcake, or Christmas Cake. It is not like American shortcake, so it's worth a try if you are a fan of strawberry shortcake. - Lindsay
