I've only launched iTunes a couple of times on a Windows machine. Why do you hate it so much? Seems like it runs pretty much the way it does on the Mac - admittedly, differently from the way Windows apps run. Does it tend to crash the machine (which it doesn't do on the Mac, of course.) - Mary B: #TeamMonique

There are Manu bugs and inconsistencies in the UI. When it runs w/o being the default player and Windows Media Player is running it intercepts hardware controls for play/volume. I have a slew of things that make it the worst piece of software that I have ever installed. </rant> Mind you, our iPhones and iPod Touches are the greatest devices ever. - Stephan Planken

I've never had the sort of problems you describe, but I know many people dislike iTunes. Perhaps the new version next month - a radical rewrite it appears - will solve some or most of the issues. - Winckel
