Every few months they meet in Basel in Switzerland where, away from public scrutiny, “they coordinate an unprecedented global agenda… conjuring up unimaginable amounts of cheap money.” As Macdonald points out in an accompanying series of articles, “When the record of the 2008 global financial catastrophe is fully written the world’s central bankers will emerge either as heroes, or as the people who administered a cure that turned out to be as bad as the disease.” - Halil
