Nor is this evidence of someone having even minimal familiarity with a topic like "gender roles in society," which is a HUGE area studied by thousands of scholars from many disciplines (sociology, mass media, political science, archaeology, to name a few). Anyway, the point of my rant is that just because a professor is a professor doesn't mean they actually know something. Be more critical. Don't let anyone disrespect you as a student by faking competence. Demand more. Ask questions.
