Do something wrong, get called a name and, like magic, your wrongdoing is forgiven! Welcome to America 2014, ladies and gentlemen!
I think there's vast disagreement about whether he did anything wrong. It's not like he murdered or raped anybody. - Victor Ganata
Hell, it's not even like he punched anyone in the face. - Victor Ganata
And even for those people who do think he did something wrong, I think a lot of them recognize that some of his critics are even more wrong. - Victor Ganata
Whatever. It's a formula. He's a poor sport, and if you don't think so then I guess we disagree on the basic concept of sportsmanship. That was always my (and the VAST majority of Sherman critics') objection. Should he be called some of the names he's been called subsequently? No. Absolutely not. But that doesn't change the basic fact that he's a poor sport. A fact which, throughout this little drama, he's yet to acknowledge. Now we're talking about race, and socioeconomics and all the stuff that makes it easy to dismiss what set this whole thing off in the first place. - Kevin (aka ThreadKilla)
He could've handled it better, but this really does make it seem like Crabtree provoked him: http://ftw.usatoday.com/2014... - Victor Ganata
Anyway, the punishment should fit the crime. We have people in pro sports continuing to deny their use of PEDs despite evidence. This is not the worst example of poor sportsmanship ever. - Victor Ganata
AFAIK, there's no punishment (unless you think Internet trolls carry some weight). He's getting endorsements right and left and now he's a celebrity on top of being a pro football player. Which, I suppose, was the purpose of his loud-mouthed antics all along. So, Sherman wins! - Kevin (aka ThreadKilla)
That's always been the way it works. This is America since pro-wrestling, at least. Or maybe since forever. - Victor Ganata
