Children 'should sleep with parents until they're five' - Times Online - http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol...
"Sunderland’s book puts her at odds with widely read parenting gurus such as Gina Ford, whose advice is followed by thousands. Ford advocates establishing sleep routines for babies from a very early age in cots “away from the rest of the house” and teaching babies to sleep “without the assistance of adults”." - Robert Felty
For the most part, Spencer has seemed to prefer to sleep by himself from a fairly early age, though lately he has been wanting to sleep with us. Meg definitely wants to sleep with us right now. She does not seem to want to be away from Clare much at all. I don't mind sleeping with kids in theory, but in practice, it can be hard. Spencer kicks a lot in his sleep, which makes it hard for me to get decent sleep, which makes me irritable. - Robert Felty
Hazel slept in our bed until she was in danger of rolling off the bed. Then I slept with her on a mattress on the floor of her room. It eventually got to a point where I only had to help her fall asleep and I could leave. Now Gabe puts her to bed and leaves the room immediately. She sleeps the entire night by herself. - Maggie
I'm hoping the second child actually uses the crib we purchased - but if we have to go through the same process, I don't mind. Hazel doesn't fight us at night and it takes 5 minutes to put her to bed. - Maggie
