What's with all these thirty somethings who don't know who Carl Sagan is or about his show Cosmos.
I know who Sagan was, of course, but I didn't ever watch Cosmos. My TV watching was pretty limited when I was younger, we didn't have many channels, and somehow that one never made it in. - Jennifer Dittrich
Thirty-somethings would have been pretty young when Cosmos aired. I know who he was and have a vague recollection of Cosmos, but I was 3 years old at the time it first aired. When he died I was a teenager. And the most important parts of his scientific career were well before I was born. - John (bird whisperer)
Who is Carl Sagan? - OCoG of FF, Jimminy
A lot older than 30, and while I knew who Carl Sagan was, we tried a bit of the original Cosmos and couldn't handle Sagan's speaking style. NdGT is much better. (I also appreciate the irony of the new Cosmos being on Fox--even though apparently some creationists are convinced it's on PBS, the new 18-minutes-of-ads-per-hour PBS, I guess.) - walt crawford
Walt: did you see where an Oklahoma station ran a news promo during the 15 seconds that evolution was mentioned in Cosmos? http://www.rawstory.com/rs... - bentley
I didn't; wonder what kind of "editing error" that station will use if there's an episode that actually deals with evolution? Maybe a sudden power outage? (Fortunately, my view of Oklahoma will always be based on Tom Paxton, therefore favorable...) - walt crawford
I really did feel pretty bad for that Bruno guy though. How much can one Star Gazer stand. Obviously a heck of a lot. - macgeek61
