Depends on the use cases and the existing technology stack. Tibbr, though, considers this its primary differentiator in many ways and theres no question that they know SAP, Oracle and other resident technologies better than most given their middleware pedigree. On the other hand if you are building on Force.com, then technically, Chatter would be more appropriate.
All that said, integration is only one aspect for success (but you know that).
Ultimately, if the collaboration aspects are not usable or scalable, no amount of perfect integration will lead to meaningful participation. Thats why I would never opine on who is categorically better without knowing the customer context, and why I also think relying on Quadrants and Waves for such horizontal technology is downright dangerous."
