I'm not trying to downplay GBS, but the hysteria over vaccine side effects compared to their benefit of blown way out of proportion. So, in 1976, out of millions vaccinated, 500 developed GBS, 25 died. Umm, so how many people die of Influenza, and how many deaths were saved by vaccination? No vaccine is going to be 100% safe. The anti-vaccine activists like Jim Carrey demand levels of proof of safety that are frankly impossible, if in principle and do massive harm to public health IMHO. Every year a new flu vaccine is developed, how many are tested to the levels people want? You can't run a multiyear study on vaccine trials when the virus mutates every year. - Ray Cromwell
