"The sound is going to be different. The jaguar bass has a mix between a p-bass pickup and a jazz bass pickup. That should give him a mix between the poppy sound he likes (via the p-bass pickup) and then the fuller, more bass-y sound that he can get from the Jazz bass pickup. His signature bass is just a p-bass pickup, so this bass should have more bottom end (bass) sound to it. That's if he mixes the two pickups together. What he might end up doing is switching between the pickups, or changing the blend between the two, for different songs.
