"Hi Lynne. When you say scan, do you mean a CT scan? If so that won't get to the problem. She needs an MRI or Pet Scan. The advice below is excellent. Get a referral to a neurologist who is very experienced with dementia, its symptoms and causes. And, who knows how to run a battery of tests, not just paper tests.
