Until I joined ff, I used the English language exclusively for reading (mostly books) and listening. I learned understanding conversation in English - and the ability to write or converse a bit in English myself - on ff. For me it has been a big step. - Maitani

There are a few people whose posts often lifted me up emotionally and mentally (I won't analyze now why that is so), and I adore these people. I am sure they don't know this, but I hope I'll find them on the other side. :-) - Maitani

There are also a few regrets: that I was never able to properly communicate with so many awesome Turkish friendfeeders. Because there is still no machine on the internet that translate from Turkish so you can make out the sense of the utterance. - Maitani

For quite some time I have observed (and liked the fact) that very often I happened to"like" posts simultaneously with Jennifer Dittrich. I never had access to her feed though. - Maitani

I think I was a fairly good "liker" on ff. - Maitani

I have often felt aghast learning about the financial and existential hardships US citizens have to endure when facing health issues. - Maitani

I am quite convinced that the ff experience made me a more open-minded person than I was before. - Maitani

I admire how many of you work so incredibly hard to carve out a life for you and your loved ones. - Maitani
