Re: Google Wave crashes on beach of overhype - http://scobleizer.disqus.com/google_...
"Although I thought your article was more thoughtful and balanced, you still seemed to emphasize the communication aspects (e-mail) over the publishing aspects. Despite Lars' assertion I don't see Wave replacing email either. IM with notification filtering might consolidate and simplify the direct messaging app space. I do think Wave could replace Wikis and apps like PowerPoint though my inclination is to let it evolve into something not tied to old metaphors. My impression is that the realtime communication functionality will direct and serve as commentary on the publishing process and that the recorder will eventually be used primarily as a presentation playback engine for the content being produced and not as a conversation playback engine. There's nothing wrong with being an edge case unless you don't realize it." - scott anderson

Google Wave Pisses Me Off - http://blog.digitalbackcountry.com/2009...
"people don’t get excited about standards- they get exited about vision" -- Platform Evangelist for Adobe appears to not understand the substantial constraints that proprietary platforms like Flash impose on developers, which in turn limits their vision resulting in disappointed end users. The comments to this post clearly demonstrate this frustration. - scott anderson

"You completely misunderstood the use cases for this platform. It is a realtime collaborative publishing tool. You and Louis are edge cases. Wave is not intended to replace Twitter or FriendFeed, which are more about individuals broadcasting to the masses, marketing themselves, amassing followers, curating egos, etc." - scott anderson

Dunkin’ Isn’t the Only One Delivering Donuts Tonight - http://www.tmonews.com/2009...
"Select G1 handsets at 12AM Eastern Daylight Time tonight will receive the Donut update. Next, after a 24-hour waiting period, T-Mobile will extend its deliciousness to MyTouch3G handsets–that is, if there are no hiccups (meaning no bricked phones). Then, if all goes well, the rest of the users will start seeing the trickle down effect, regardless of handset." - scott anderson
starting to wonder if I should unroot my phone.....I'm leery of all the weirdness going on with mods lately, just don't want to give up all the apps I have now with the extra space. what to do, what to do...... - Ⓐ ☠ slayerboy ☠ Ⓐ
No worries, a zip version (manual update) of OTA will appear, and the mod community will be able to provide a method to have a better version of that image. Despite all the concern, google still supports the architecture around mod work (just not unauthorized binary distribution). - DMKrow
