"If the space and people cost them $5k a day, it would just take them 20 days of rehearsal to hit $100k in costs. That sounds pretty doable."

"Right. Is he talented? For sure. But all of his projects after blink have benefited from the fact he's in one of the biggest bands of all time and has made a ton of cash to bankroll anything he wants."

"I'll be there. I'm staying in the Embassy Suites hotel that was part of the MusInk hotel deal. I'll probably leave here around noon-ish and check out all the cars, tattoo artists, etc"
- Sam Houston
"If I've learned one thing about Travis, you don't fuck with him and his personal life. Tom may have torched a bridge here by saying that about Travis."
- Sam Houston
"When they rehearse they use a rehearsal space, they have all the equipment in there, they've got a sound guy and their guitar/drum techs...depending on how much they rehearse, I could see that costing a lot of money."
- Sam Houston
"Totally agree. Don't say you're going to record an album, then fill your entire year with 15(!) novels, 4 albums, and who knows how many film projects. It's disingenuous to act like you can do that, knowing full well it will take back seat to all of your other projects. He should just come out and admit that blink is a low priority for him. Then he should move on. It's a dick move to his band mates and his fans to make us all wait for his constantly evolving schedule."
- Sam Houston
"We're talking about the latest news and what's happening with blink. What's happening is blink playing shows and they're playing them with a new guitarist. What else should people talk about?"
- Sam Houston
"The bunny came back when they reunited, it was just redrawn to be the new school style. They've used the bunny in all of their posters."
- Sam Houston
"At this point my main issue with Tom is that he hasn't quit, he's asked blink to wait around for him because he's too busy. The problem with that is that he's over committed himself, committing to recording with blink and then backing out at the last second because blink was going to require him to actually focus and follow through with them. Saying "I'm all of a sudden too busy for all of 2015!" while also doing press interviews saying that you're going to record a new blink record this year (and telling your band members that you're down for recording with them)...it's disingenuous at best. He told the band one thing and then made his schedule so full that he couldn't fulfill his end of the bargain. He created his own scheduling conflicts, he has complete control over all of his AVA/To The Stars stuff, he should have worked those around his blink obligations. That's assuming he actually wanted to do blink stuff, which his actions seem to indicate that he wasn't interested in doing..."

"As always, would have loved to hear more blink details. But that said, it was great to hear Matt talk about how excited he is to play with blink and how "it feels like a band" (re: how comfortable he is playing the songs and with them). All in all it sounds like he's happy and Mark's happy. Hopefully this means they will play more shows and write together."
- Sam Houston
"I bet you $100 that Tom would not be caught dead within a hundred yards of that place. The dude basically just got kicked out of his own band, why would he show up to their show they have within another guy?"
- Sam Houston
"He's a nice guy. His bands come to San Francisco and they play a tiny venue here, after his sets he'll come and have drinks with fans. He just seems like a low-key chill dude. He posted on Instagram that he just become a volunteer firefighter in LA. That's fucking awesome and shows a lot of humility. Based on interviews with Travis, Matt is also bringing a lot of enthusiasm and a performance level that we haven't seen from Tom in years. Matt's playing well, he's singing well...unfortunately Tom hasn't been doing that for awhile. I also really, really like Matt's song writing abilities. I love his solo stuff and I really like Alkaline Trio. He writes interesting lyrics that are backed by fun and fast songs. I can't wait to see what he writes with Travis and Mark. I think he's a great compliment to Mark's writing and sound sensibilities."
