"I am using disqus (http://disqus.com) as a blogger addon. That'sndy likely why you have not seen it before. I love Disqus because it tracks comments fromwhereever a blog has it installed, it allows twitter/facebook integration and posting to them as well.
Now to Lester's question, I would agree with Randy, that issues between Desktop environments used to cause problems, but with today's distro's, it does not happen nearly as much, if at all. The most I have seen is minor anomalies with typeface/size more than anything else.
There is still some political wrangling between Gnome and KDE camps, but they have been working more to make their environments behave with each other.
