Beware there is an iTunes phishing email doing the rounds. It looks genuine enough but the link takes you to a server at itunes.apple.verification.compte.id.casadue.com.uy I'm wary as this one was sent to an email address that is used exclusively for iTunes and a couple of Apple software outlets. #apple #itunes #phishing - https://picasaweb.google.com/1128665...

I'm thinking that Firefox plus some feed add-ons might be a good solution for me to replace Google Reader.
- FF Sync will save my bookmarks (including Live Bookmarks I hope?)
- The Sage extension will import OPML feeds. Not been updated for a while though it still works with FF 19.
- Feed Sidebar 6 and OPML Support 1.6 is another alternative.
- Bamboo Feed Reader 1.7.4 also works quite well.
I can set up each one of these combinations in their own Firefox profile and play with them until I find one that suits my needs.

Whilst I'm evaluating alternatives in preparation for the Google Reader closure I shall be re-visiting Yahoo Pipes. I've used this service in the past to process multiple RSS feeds and output as a single feed to low-bandwodth applications.
