Ted Gilchrist

The 2nd best audio mashup person in the entire universe. Sometimes called the "Duke of Duct Tape". Sometimes not.
I feel like Dorothy with the Ruby slippers. I just discovered TRAMP in Emacs. Kansas being a remote machine I want to do a dired on.
I'm so excited. Today is the day I enter the world of outbound dialing tokens. #tropo #touringtest
While the the King of Mashups gets bogged down in #googlewave, the Duke of Duct-tape has his eyes on the #touringtest
I've inadvertently created a Delphic app. This evening, I got "Greg this is to the library to print out urgent photo copies whatever it is you wants 24 the cooking." #touringtest
@voxeo #tropo (Picture me holding a sign by onramp to Information Highway) "Will build mashups for Android device"
For those following along at home, I am implementing stuffing the recorded calendar item in an S3 bucket, just in case the transcription is incomprehensible #tropo #touringtest
"List school opening please ring losing to school late." (Translation "Late school opening. Bring Lucy to school 2 hours late") #touringtest
"Pick up with the hanger renewal for anything at least the 1." - This was something about a play date. #touringtest
Not ready to say next gen of my Silicon Valet app passes the Touring Test. http://sites.google.com/site.... But I will release it soon, just for laughs. #tropo #voxeo #touringtest
Wanna know what I'm referring to? Follow tweet twail. It's all about the twanscwipts. #tropo #touring
Ready to take bike for spin, and perform multiple touring tests. #tropo . For those following at home, rudimentary calendar insertion works.
Will test on bike. Will call it "The Touring Test".
The challenge. Do audio calendar updates while riding bike, and have transcripts be comprehensible later. I call this "The Touring Test".
Gonna set the automatic transcription bar really low ... Can the transcript jog my memory to know what I said? Killer App will be Calendar.
Just got loan offer from Elephant Loan. Forgetta bout it.
My Google Wave is sort of like the waves here in NH.
Props to Brightkite for helping get VnoTed working again. The world is again safe for democracy. #tropo #voxeo #democracy #safety
Ok, I've been a little harsh on BrightKite. Here's my new approach: Take advantage of these little API's but don't allow them to become a point of failure. So I'm going to re-factor VnoTed so accounts are stored on Unca Google. If Brightkite is under construction, I'll route around it.
Dividing line: Grownup companies keep their API's up and running, and don't just spuriously go dark when things are broken. I think I'm going to start sticking with grownup companies. No offense to non-grownups, but it gets a little frustrating to have your app stop working until the struggling startup can spare the resources to fix the issue.
Google Wave for me is like swimming in Maine. It's great, and invigorating, but I can't stay in too long, because I start to get numb.
Aunt Rosie is quite simply "the bomb".
What kind of person says "methinks"?
Extra for experts: Tease out the difference between NV and VN occurences - Ted Gilchrist
Checking the Waves every morning takes me back to my youth ...
Prediction: My thread-killing skills will be transferable to Google Wave.
Will you trust me when I say this is funny? http://www.facebook.com/video...
Funny. Wave is for talking to your friends right? But I'm watching the number of public waves grow before my eyes. People crave the social , (in the large), angle.
Once they get Rosy the translator bot working, I'm good to go on the Rio wave.
I hate it when people use younger versions of themselves as avatars. Full disclosure: I'm not a Surf God anymore.
Funny. I'm currently engaged in an "old-style" tangle of overlapping Gmail threads. In the righteous Wave World, this wouldn't be happening, dude.
Evernote, Vlingo, Google Wave, all enabled within past 48 hours. I feel like a techno-toddler again.
Ready to surf some righteous Google waves. Which end of this thing is the front?
