"I’ve been accused of being somewhat competitive and I’ve always regarded that as a positive attribute given that I earn my income trying to convince juries that my opponent is wrong. I’m competing all of the time and if I’m being honest, I really enjoy what I do. So it was not completely unexpected that once I started the Fitbit program that I would walk more. What I did not fully understand is that I’d become a prisoner to the rubber band from hell that I have on my wrist."

We spent the first hour or two assembling chairs and desks. Fitbit co-founder Eric Friedman came from San Francisco to help. He's all the way in back in the second picture.

Today marks the first time I've passed Louis Gray on the Fitbit leaderboard. I don't know exactly what the "taunt" feature does, but I just used it. :-)
I discovered this week that it doesn't take any longer to walk between North Station and our temporary offices at 129 Newbury Street than it takes to ride the green line. Walking over Beacon Hill and through the Boston Public Garden gives way better scenery than I would get riding underground.

We went bicycling along a newly-surfaced bike path and toured the Wenham Swamp Walk for the first time. Splashes of fall color made it nice. The boardwalk was reminiscent of Plum Island.

My wife and kids want to give our new kittens conventional names like "Jasmine" and "Charlotte". I think the shorthair should be named "Focus" and the longhair "Blur". The shorthair always looks straight at the phone when I take a picture. The longhair is constantly running around.
