Home network is progressing very well. Domain controller is set up and filled with basic users and permissions. VPN server is a member server and successfully accepting incoming connections. Next up: folder redirection with offline mode for domain users.

Server 2008 R2 successfully installed. Unfortunately, I made the silly decision to use x86 Server 2003/2008 previously, so I had to do a fresh install with x64. Now it's on to SQL Server 2008.
